This solitary nocturnal, secretive feline, has long been a favourite of mine.

A medium sized, robust wild cat with long legs, a short face, and long canine teeth, it shows a preference for arid areas with suitable cover. Also found in the Middle East, Central Asia and parts of Pakistan.

Enjoyed every page of this book. The author spreads the story over many years but keeps it all moving in a way that draws you into the characters’ lives. Kathy is a strong lady who is so relatable and feels familiar. Written in a style that gets your attention and holds it.

Not many books set during this time in Rhodesia so this was a gem to read.
